We are very pleased to announce that Heartstart Swallowfield and the Swallowfield Community Responders have between them raised enough funds to donate three AED’s to our local Schools.

Two of these have now been deployed in the Oakbank and Lambs Lane Schools.

We are very pleased to announce that not only have Fraser,s Budgens allowed us to reinstall the Public AED onto their Three Mile Cross Site, they have also paid for the privilege!  Frasers is a family run Company that really likes to be part of the Community and they jumped at the chance to show this by asking whether they could actually make a donation to pay for the AED that was on the front of  their shop. We really must thank the Fraser family as this donation actually means that we can place a defibrillator into one of the local schools.

We were once again very happy and pleased to be invited back to the Swallowfield Church Fete.  The weather held on the whole and the Fete saw hundreds of people attending.  at one point there was not a single chair left around the tea tent and it looked like the whole or the vicinity had descended to partake in afternoon tea and cakes!

We were busier than normal with lots of people wanting to try CPR and / or the AED.. We put this down to our bigger Gazebo where we now have much more space.Swallowfield Church fete 2016 2 Swallowfield Church fete 2016 1

We were very fortunate to be asked to attend the Pang Valley Camp this year where 500 Scouts, beavers, cubs, explorers all descended into Pangbourne for a couple of days of fun and education.  We were asked to be part of the Community Section and taught the youngsters CPR and how the AED works.  Needless to say we were quite exhausted at the end of the day but absolutely loved being there.  With 500 people we needed as many helpers as we could get so Sean, a previous Swallowfield Community Responder cam along and helped – Thank you Sean!.
